Sheltered Journey is a place where parents and caregivers of children (both minor and adult children) living with emotional, behavioral, developmental, and intellectual challenges can find support and where their unique experiences are shared, acknowledged, and honored.
Parents and caregivers of children living with challenges face a daily marathon of ups and downs in loving, caring, and advocating for their children. As a result, they are often depleted and need support and resources that address their own experiences; experiences that are often overlooked and misunderstood.
Sheltered Journey offers parents and caregivers much needed resources that can be difficult to find. Resources such as regular podcasts on shared experiences, listings of nationwide and state-specific organizations that offer support, and caregiver-centered retreats.
Sheltered Journey is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2021 by Janice Wiggins, mother of a daughter with mental health and developmental challenges, who saw the need for a nationwide, caregiver-focused support and resource organization.
